Christopher Wilborn guilty of domestic assault inflicting serious injury, kidnapping, strangulation
He will serve a minimum of 5 years in N.C. Prisons
ASHEVILLE, NC — Thursday, June 13, 2024, Christopher Jermaine Wilborn, 45 of Asheville, pleaded guilty to felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, felony Second Degree Kidnapping and felony Assault by Strangulation. As a result, Superior Court Judge Alan Thornburg sentenced Wilborn to serve an active prison term 60-96 months in the custody of the North Carolina Department of Corrections.
Wilborn was arrested by Asheville Police Department (APD) officers on November 7, 2023 after APD was dispatched to the Pisgah View apartment complex in Asheville in reference to a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a female victim bleeding from the head who informed them that Wilborn had struck her in the head with a knife causing a six inch laceration. She further stated that Wilborn had locked her in a room for two days not allowing her to leave and that while being held in the room, Wilborn strangled her.
The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment, made a full recovery, but expressed to prosecutors that she did not wish to cooperate further in the prosecution of Wilborn.
