Milo Henderson Sentenced in Connection to Asheville Human Trafficking Investigation
He will serve over 4 years in N.C. prisons
ASHEVILLE, NC – April 1, 2025 – Milo Henderson, 39, who was arrested in June 2024 as part of a human trafficking investigation at an Asheville hotel, pleaded guilty to multiple felonies and was sentenced yesterday, March 31, 2025, in Buncombe County Superior Court.
Henderson was arrested following a joint operation by the Asheville Police Department and the Cherokee Indian Police Department at the Econo Lodge on Tunnel Road. Authorities initially were investigating an individual with outstanding warrants but discovered evidence suggesting a potential human trafficking operation at the hotel.
During surveillance, officers identified Henderson as being involved in the suspected trafficking activity. Subsequent searches of hotel rooms associated with Henderson and another individual led to the discovery of a trafficking amount of suspected controlled substances. Lab analysis confirmed methamphetamine and crack cocaine.
Henderson pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Alan Thornburg and was sentenced by Judge Thornburg to an active term of between 53-82 months in N.C. prisons.
The court ordered Henderson to have no contact, directly or indirectly, with the victim.
The investigation also resulted in the arrest and subsequent termination of a Buncombe County Sheriff's Office deputy for solicitation of prostitution.
The victim was advised of the plea and approved of the result.
